All Pakistan Sizing Industries Association (APSIA) have strongly resented the exorbitant and arbitrary increase of 65 rupees in price of each maize starch bag and demanded of government to take immediate cognisance of this gruesome situation, which would yield negative impact over the sizing industry as well as power looms industry. Addressing a protest meeting, Mirza Shafique Ahmad, Chairman All Pakistan Sizing Industries Association said that due to this unprecedented increase in the maize starch prices, the business of sizing industry and power loom sector have badly been hampered.
He said this exorbitant increase in maize starch rates would also result in manifold increase in the cost of the production of grey cloth and it would not be within the reach of common man.
Mirza Shafique Ahmad appealed to the Prime Minister to immediately intervene in the matter and direct the concerned manufacturers to revert to the old price of maize starch so that the small-scale industries should survive.
